UK Startup Visa Residency Permit
UK startup visa will not provide you a visa residency permit but granted a two-year Visa. However, you can apply for other types of residence permits when you enter with the UK Startup Visa. If you live in the UK for five years you intend to apply for permanent status. a startup visa for the first two years, and an innovator visa for the following three years.
On March 29, 2019, the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa was replaced by the UK Startup visa, which is for individuals who are starting a business in the UK for the first time.
the applicant must have an innovative, viable, and sustainable business idea that has been approved by a government-appointed sponsorship agency. This pathway’s initial visa is valid for two years, and permanent residence cannot be obtained through it. Applicants may, however, apply for an innovation visa at the end of the initial 2-year validity period.
Who can apply to switch to the Innovative Visa Pathway?
Applicants can apply to switch to the Innovative Visa Pathway from within the UK if they hold the following visa types:
- Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneurship Visa.
- Tier 2 General Work Visa.
- Tier 4 General Student Visa (with visa conversion restrictions, please contact us for more information).
A general visitor visa for coming to the UK as a Prospective Entrepreneur to carry out activities specified in the Immigration Regulations (see Prospective Entrepreneur Visa for details).
What are the sponsorship criteria for a start-up visa?
Applicants need to develop a detailed business plan to apply for the sponsorship of the relevant departments, and need to provide relevant supporting documents together with their business plan to prove that they meet the following requirements for the start-up visa:
- Innovative: The business plan must be authentic and original to meet new or existing market needs and create a competitive advantage.
- Feasibility: Applicants must actively develop the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and market awareness to enable them to successfully run their business.
- Sustainability: Applicants must be able to provide detailed evidence of structural planning, job creation, and growth potential in the domestic market.
After applying for a UK residence permit and living in the UK for 12 months, applicants will automatically meet the financial requirements. If not, applicants must hold at least £1,270 of funds in the 28 days prior to applying.
