UK Endorsing Bodies: Historical Guide and Current List

What is the current route?
The current Innovator Founder visa is for people seeking to establish and run an innovative business in the UK. The business idea must be assessed by an approved endorsing body. GOV.UK describes the idea as needing to be new, innovative, viable and scalable; applicants must also meet the other eligibility requirements. Which endorsing body can assess a new application?
Use the current GOV.UK list of business endorsing bodies. The government distinguishes bodies that can issue endorsements for new initial Innovator Founder applications from legacy endorsing bodies associated with earlier cases. Check the list and each body’s current process before contacting it.
Does an endorsement guarantee a visa?
No. An endorsing body assesses the business or business idea and may issue an endorsement letter when its requirements are met. An endorsement is one requirement in a visa application; UK Visas and Immigration decides the visa application against the applicable rules. A business plan, paid preparation service or endorsement does not guarantee approval.
What support is available?
Assessment, contact points, fees and optional business support vary by endorsing body. Do not assume that every body offers fundraising, intellectual-property services or other services listed in older articles.
